Once upon a time, in the land of Facebook, there was a ‘Fan’. Someone became a fan of a page when they clicked the ‘Become a fan’ button on a particular fan page. A person had to be on your Page to become a fan, but with recent changes to the way Facebook allows people to connect with your Page, it has opened up a whole new world of opportunities to create FREE leads for your business. and simple connections from anywhere. The Internet.
There are many benefits of adopting this new Facebook initiative:
- When someone on Facebook clicks the Like button on your Page, it shows up in their News Feed. Your friends can see the pages they like and proceed to “like” you too. Your customer base grows with just one click.
- If you install and display the Like button on your website, visitors can automatically click it and Facebook automatically updates their Facebook profile and they start following you without even having to log in to Facebook and find it. Using the “Like” button to connect to potential customers is an important step in the connection process, a step that can sometimes result in losing potential customers if they have trouble finding you, or think they will find you later, they forget.
- As a content publisher, whether it’s a BLOG post, article, or link, people can like your content. This is displayed on your Facebook pages and your friends have the opportunity to see your content, building you as a leader in your industry and increasing your brand following.
- Bring all your customers, website visitors, BLOG content followers and leads together in one place, Facebook. A place that is well-branded, a place where people spend a lot of time, and a place where you can connect with them every day without sending them long emails. People have no problem reading a status update about a new product or sale, but they get tired of receiving a lot of emails from a particular company (it also saves you time).
- The Like button brings much more attention to your sites. As people share your links etc., your position in the search engines increases, further increasing the ‘position’ of your business on the web.
The Facebook ‘Like’ button is a great business tool. There are a ton of great videos on UTube that show you how to install this tool. The change that initially caused quite a stir on the Facebook Pages I follow is a change that will make it easier for potential customers to follow you, grow your list much faster and from different locations on the web, and increase your sales. The question should no longer be what the Like button is, but rather how fast I can get it on my sites.
