When you play airsoft in the wild, there are a lot of things you need to think about when it comes to safety. You need to think about the safety of all participants with wildlife and hazards on the ground you are playing on.
Airsoft is a blast when you play outdoors in nature. Many people love to go out into the woods or into several hundred acres of vast terrain. Most people only think about the safety of being hit with a pellet when playing airsoft, but they don’t think about their surroundings and the dangers they may encounter when playing in nature.
Wildlife is something that people need to be aware of when playing airsoft in the wild. Just because you have an airsoft gun doesn’t mean you’re safe. The pellets may give you a sting, but they may not give wildlife enough of a sting to protect you. One of the biggest concerns that people should pay attention to is snakes. Snakes in the wild are common problems and if people are not careful they can end up with a snake bite. If you are running from someone and you are not paying attention, you may step on a snake. California and Arizona have Diamondback rattlesnakes that have a life-threatening bite. You need to set rules for the players that if they see a snake, they must notify all other players about the snake. If the snake is in a prime location in the game, play may need to be delayed until the snake is properly removed from the location or the section is marked out of bounds for play.
Players may also be subject to injury due to the terrain they are playing on. There may be a hole in the ground that you step into and twist or break your ankle. You may trip and fall on a branch and sustain a severe cut that needs to be dealt with. Some terrain that people play airsoft on often includes steep slopes and hills, heights you could fall from, and more. You must be prepared for the type of terrain you are playing airsoft on.
When playing airsoft outdoors, you should make sure you have a first aid kit with you if there is no designated medical site for players. You should also wear clothing suitable for outdoor play. Not only be prepared for the mulch to be hit by a pellet, but be prepared for wildlife you might encounter, such as a snake. Wear proper boots and footwear, gloves, knee and elbow pads, and more. You must be prepared for any type of injury when you run irregularly on rough terrain.
When you play airsoft you can be subject to many different types of injuries. You need to be prepared for more than just a pellet bite, but also for wildlife and the terrain you’re playing on. You can choose to play indoors, but playing in nature is much more fun. Just be prepared for anything if your game spans several hundred acres.
