Oil filter comparison, what do you know about oil filters? Do you know the difference between single and two stage filters? What makes one filter better than another? Is it the brand name, style, size, color, engineering? Ever wonder who, what, why, when and where about filters? Here’s a picture of some of the types of filters and companies that make them;

One of the best comparative studies we have found is this one:

The third part is a very interesting section. Discuss the importance of particulate matter. This is a good study and it mainly discusses the best filter in terms of mostly high performance Ford Cars and the study is an excellent job. If you look closely at this study, you’ll see the differences in options from a study, which is primarily interested in the performance of a ZR-1.

What most people don’t understand is that a filter is almost as important as the choice of oil itself. Having owned many Turbo Charged cars, cars with blowers and various other components, many of which use the engine oil to lubricate the rest of the components, running at much faster RPMs and generating much more heat than the engine itself . I can appreciate this study looking at the Trans Am Turbo. Great engine with Turbo, many different needs. If you want to get technical, you will find very quickly that the figure of liars and figures lie. But racing professionals agree to disagree, everyone understands the meaning, but when it comes to numbers, different numbers in tables, graphs and figures mean different things to other people. In my study of these studies I have left out those who do not admit that all data is subject to interpretation, conjecture, and opinion. Even if they’re so self-convinced that they’d be worn down by your findings. Jaime Salinas who works for Bosch is very fair in comparing and studying his studies.
AMSOIL has an interesting page full of graphs, which is fair but of course it’s an example of graphs and tables to prove a point. Is synthetic the way forward? They have done extensive studies which are published on their website.
It’s up to you. Oil, cars and engines are a global issue and some people abroad see things differently from us too. There are many interesting comparisons worth reading, worthy of a ‘Google’ search. We want everyone to know that we know the results, the tests and the claims and that we are there for our customers. When it comes to protection, we are there for our clients, how about you?
