We fill our body with toxins on a daily basis. There are obviously many different types of toxins, none of which are good for you. But, some have a more severe effect than others. Some toxins can eat away at your insides, while others simply force your body to store fat instead of burning it for energy. The first sounds worse than the second, right? They are, in fact, equally detrimental to your health and life in general. To avoid the latter; however, you must learn to eat a healthy diet.
Surely you have heard of detox diets and the amount of weight that many have lost. This is because the toxins in our bodies cling to fat like there is no tomorrow. This is not to say that you should run out and find a detox diet, but rather that you should learn how to decrease the amount of toxins that enter your body on a daily basis. A detox diet will be a temporary solution, just like any other diet. If you want permanent results, you need to change the way you eat, find healthy foods to eat instead of toxin-filled ones.
“But,” you think, “I eat pretty decent food.” You would be surprised. If you’re eating something out of a box, bag, can, or fast food restaurant, you’re not eating as well as you think. Yes, even if you get salads from these places, they are still full of toxins that will do nothing good for your body or health. It’s not just about what you’re eating, but also about how the food was treated, what chemicals are in it, etc.
You see organic food everywhere you go; some places have better selections than others. Take your time to find the store that best suits your needs. This is why. Whole and organic foods are not treated with the toxins that other foods are. Therefore, by eating organic foods you are putting less toxins into your body. Fewer toxins equals a healthier you from the inside out.
So the ultimate goal is to decrease, not eliminate, the amount of toxins in your body. Start concentrating on fresh, natural, whole foods: fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, etc. Not the packaged kind either. Fruits, for example, are only good for you when they are fresh. Fruit in a cup or can is drenched in high fructose sugar and is NOT the toxin-free food your body needs.
If you can gradually replace your existing meals and snacks with natural meals and snacks, you’ll find that you have more energy and feel better about yourself. It will take time to fully implement healthy eating habits, but once created, there is no going back. That’s the goal here, you can’t do this overnight. Gradually improve your intake and it will stay with you for the rest of your long and healthy life.
