Tourists and visitors think of Piedmont and the surrounding area as surprisingly pristine and remarkably beautiful in many different ways. As the modern world has continued to develop rapidly in recent years, this area still boasts of several miles of crystal clear rivers and streams, beautiful lakes, trees, solitude, and fresh air.
The area’s waters and forests are teeming with fish and wildlife, and natural sounds and birdsong are some of the most common delights found here. The city of Piedmont and its surrounding community blend into this wonderful setting, and while modern conveniences are also available on-site, they are meant to work in harmony with its natural surroundings. There are two industrial parks in the city and tourism forms the backbone of the city’s economy.
The Piedmont region of Italy borders France and Switzerland, giving you an excellent position to rent a holiday home. The first thing you can do in the city is take a walk. If you’re a keen shopper, there are many craft shops, flea markets, and antique shops in town.
Traveling is the second most popular activity for visitors to Piedmont, as some of the top tourist destinations, including Wappapello Lake, Sam A. Baker State Park, and the Black Rivers, are just a short drive from the city. The Ozark River Nature Scenic Byways are located west of the city, which is home to America’s two floating streams: the Current and Jacks Fork rivers.
Some of the must-see places in Piedmont include Acceglio, Acqui Terme, Asti, Biella, Isola San Giulio, Macugnaga, Turin, and Verbania. Others include the Royal Palace of Turin, Palazzina di caccia di Stupinigi, Palazzo Carignano, Castello del Valentino, Sacro Monte di Crea, Paradise Chapel, Sacro Monte di Ghiffa, Sacro Monte di Domodossola, and Sacro Monte di Varallo.
The third thing you’ll love to do in Piedmont is fish. Clearwater Lake in the city is one of Missouri’s most popular fishing and recreational lakes. Viewed from above, this lake appears to sparkle like an emerald jewel nestled in the colorful Ozark setting. Also known as the Gem of the Ozarks, Clearwater Lake is known for other outdoor activities including water skiing, boating, and swimming.
The lake offers four main recreational areas at its corners and Webb Creek, Piedmont Park and Bluff View offer swimming beaches, campgrounds, boat ramps, playgrounds and marinas for visitor pleasure. There are no closed seasons for fishing in Clearwater Lake and you can catch fish such as sunfish, white bass, crappie, flathead and channel catfish up to a certain daily limit.
The fourth thing not to be missed in Piedmont is playing golf. There are several country clubs in Piedmont that offer testy semi-private holes with zoysia fairways, paved paths, and bent-grass greens, along with restaurants, pools, and various added luxuries.
The fifth favorite thing to do in Piedmont is camping. There are several parks in the Piedmont that include campsites, picnics, diners, tents, cabins, and visitor centers and arrange activities such as canoeing, swimming, rafting, fishing, backpacking, hiking, and interpretive programs.
