When it comes to spiritual philosophies like these, just like when considering the concept of time travel, there is a whole world of seeming contradictions, confusion, and chicken and egg scenarios that can lead to a huge headache when we try to rationalize them. .
Here’s the thing, no one really knows. We are all making this up as we go along. Okay, I’m making up my beliefs about everything I write based on a lifetime of experience, research, personal development, and philosophizing, but still. No one has the definitive answers to these things. So here are my thoughts (simplified). Let them guide you to yours, whether you agree with me or not.
The Law of Attraction states that what we focus on we receive.
It is similar to a self-fulfilling prophecy in which we tell ourselves over and over again that we are a certain way: lucky, unlucky, clumsy, rich, happy, miserable, etc. and lo and behold, we are like this.
Is a premonition different from a self-fulfilling prophecy?
Or is it something that will happen anyway?
What is the difference and how can we tell them apart?
Then one day I had a premonition of an event. It kept coming back to me for a few years. And it finally happened. Now, my question for myself was, did the initial premonition happen out of fear, or even wondering what my future might look like? Was my mind taking things the way it wanted? So I focused on it, which, given what the law of attraction establishes, we attract what we focus on, made it emerge? Or was it going to happen anyway?
The answer is that I really don’t know.
Yes, I have had premonitions that have come true!
I have had premonitions on many occasions, about all kinds of things, a person’s illness, death, the conception of a child, the gender of friends’ children before they were born, accidents, celebrations, and more. Usually they are fleeting flashes that have simply appeared in my head. I have not asked for them, I have not been thinking about the person in question. I only know, feel or see them in my mind.
I have also manifested things that I have wanted in my life by focusing on them. A self-fulfilling manifestation or prophecy is one that arises through your thoughts that create your reality, combined with repeated actions, beliefs, and habits that are aligned with achieving that outcome.
In my opinion, there is also the possibility of a crossover. Many times a premonition is just the possibility of an event occurring is not ALWAYS set in stone. So when you have or are told about a premonition about yourself, you can make it come true through your thoughts, actions, and beliefs. This can be a good and bad thing. (Especially if it is not a positive end result).
I’ve also had premonitions that only have a chance to happen
I noticed this specifically when I used to do Tarot card readings. I often saw two potential outcomes for the person I was reading for. Their current course of action would take them in one direction, but altering it would mean they had an optional second route to take.
Think about it in practical terms. If a person is overweight and goes to the doctor. Your doctor can predict that your future will be filled with health problems, continued weight gain, lack of mobility, joint problems, possibly diabetes, and circulatory problems. META have a choice. If they make a few lifestyle changes, they have a completely different potential future. It is up to them, it is not set in stone.
If that same person continually tells themselves, they are worthless, they are fat, they are overweight, they cannot exercise, etc. What do you think will happen to them? They will become your own self-fulfilling proposition!
I also believe that there are some events that are set in stone and that will take place. It is true that it can be difficult, perhaps impossible, to differentiate between a certain premonition, a potential premonition, and a vision of something that we could attract into our lives. But I don’t think it is necessary to be able to distinguish them.
If you have a premonition that something would turn out in a particular way and you didn’t want it to happen that way, go ahead and make changes, fight back, find an alternate outcome to work with, and do everything in your power to achieve it. As said, it can be just a possibility, even a premonition can be altered.
And, if it’s going to happen anyway, you’ll probably be better prepared this way too. I would never resign myself to that I would always prepare for it, then focus and plan for a different outcome.
Having said all that, when I had premonitions that I couldn’t do anything about it, I always had a sense of calm about it, of knowing that this was how it should be. Even in difficult things, I knew it was going to happen and I had to prepare for it.
Plan for the best, prepare for the worst!
If I’m honest, I think that most premonitions ‘set in stone’ are major events and incidents. If it reassures you, I have even seen the premonition of a terminal illness reversed, with enough cure. Over most of the rest, well, I think we have some control, so it doesn’t really matter if it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy or a premonition because you can work with it or against it either way.
